The annual Pacu Jalur Traditional Festival, a signature cultural event in Kuantan Singingi Regency, has been officially included in the 2025 National Calendar of Events (KEN) curated by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. The festival, which showcases traditional boat races, is scheduled to take place this August and is among 110 featured events from across Indonesia. Riau Provincial Legislative Councilor Zulhendri of Inhu–Kuansing electoral district noted that growing public enthusiasm is reflected in the rising number of participants. This year, more than 200 teams are expected to compete, fueled by the emergence of newly built boats that began construction last year.
