@moneycoachdave: $150k bracket was the most shocking! You’d think living paycheck to paycheck only impacts lower-income households. But the data from higher earners tells a different story. This data is based on real spending from Bank of America, not self-reported opinions, which I think makes it more credible. Do you live check to check? #paychecktopaycheck #salarytransparency #salary #budget #PersonalFinance

Almost like the problem is spending control, not income.

outside of super high cost of living areas making 150k+ and "living paycheck to paycheck" sounds like a behavioral problem. baring any crazy circumstances like medical needs.

Some of this is skewed. My bank considers my transfers I make to my external savings and investment accounts as spending so on that I’d fall into the paycheck to paycheck when in reality we save a decent percentage.

So basically 1 in 5 people will always spend their entire paycheck.

I would fall under $101K-$125K as paycheck to paycheck. Why? Because my bank mis-categorizes moving money into my Vanguard Investing account as spending. Wouldn't surprise me if it's the same here for a percentage of the data used.

People who make more have more expensive lives. For example you make 50k and have a $500 car payment your living the same “paycheck to paycheck” as someone who makes 100k and has a 1k car payment….

not paycheck to paycheck but could probably survive 6 months. doesn't seem like a lot and would hope it would be more. especially cause I would like to buy a home but im definitely not in the shape to do that on my own.
