Вот ключевые факты: Методы издевательств: Заключённых подвергали унижениям, избиениям, пыткам током, подвешиванию за руки, а также психологическим издевательствам — заставляли лаять как собак. Надзиратели фотографировали жертв и позировали на фоне их страданий. Среди узников были гражданские, задержанные по подозрению в связях с сопротивлением. Один из заключённых, Манадель аль-Джамади, погиб от удушья после пыток. Тюрьма, печально известная ещё при Саддаме Хусейне, была закрыта в 2014 году. Осуждены лишь 11 американских военных, командование избежало наказания.
