When the engine is running remove the power cable from the battery. If it stays running alternater is working. If engine dies. The alternator not working

smart you found the defect by thinking logical. That also explain the low battery voltage indication on the dashboard gauge.

Sweetheart, the alternator does not keep the truck from starting the alternator merely charges the battery. What’s the engine is going and keeps the engine running it Hass to be starter solenoid or ignition switch or a blown fuse.

I understood all that from first video. my thing is the alt won't stop the starter from cranking the motor. unless the alt killed the battery completely. idk. guess I should hv been on site to understand more

normally when your alternator is bad, your starter will still turn over if the batteries are good but, it won't keep batteries charged.
