@viktoriawrites: Here are some tips on how to start writing horror stories as a beginner. #writertok #writersoftiktok #horrorwriter #authortok #writingcommunity
I have been loving your videos! I’m working on writing a story for a TTRPG set in the world of The Magnus Archives and the concepts of fear and the underlying horror of the everyday places and people. This series has been such an amazing inspiration and help!

could you do a breakdown on the difference between horror and thriller or horror and dark fantasy?

Horror doesn’t have to roar. Sometimes it just breathes beside you—quiet, familiar, and a little too late to be noticed. A master class.

speaking of infodumps, I would advise to not go too deep into lore and rules. there's a point where horror becomes scp 2.0, and if it's not your intention better step a bit back. I've read a lot of stories that started really great and scary, but later author get too involved in word building, and it wasn't scary anymore, it was more like logical puzzle: so you tell me you have whole organization working on it... and they did tests... but how exactly... and if there's ten different species of monsters was there like... demonic evolution... etc etc. also a lot of horrors plot holes are much more forgivable if you don't try too hard in other parts of wordbuilding

Sometimes never revealing the monster can be more impactful then a mangled creature too

Horror is so nuanced but yes I agree! The emotion!!! That’s the key.

This is perfect, because I'm running a horror-based tabletop game, with a strong emphasis on narrative.
Thank you!

I don’t write horror (just good old fantasy) but your videos are some of the most useful on the platform. Not only to write the scenes that I do want to feel horror-esque, but for everything. Your understanding and explanations of set, setting, contast, nuance and subtexts are immensely inspired and helpful across other types of writing. Thanks!!!🙏
