@.sandra.fernandes: This is going to be one of my favorite tricks when it’s finished!!! Lena grew up to be taller than I expected #horse #horses #pferd #pony #pet #PetsOfTikTok #trick #tricks #training #clickertraining #goodgirl #equestrian #fypシ
best sentence ever to come out of a horse person's mouth:
I am the problem, not you 💕💕💕

Maybe do some jumping up exercises, try and practice those like jumping up on a barge, jumping up on some bricks and see how high you can jump first get your knees, obviously keep practicing with the horses leg but the higher you can jump once you step on the leg is gonna get you through

The problem I’m having with this trick is we spend all our time teaching our boys to move away from pressure. How do we get them to resist it? And if you can go do you teach them to only resist it here?

it helps a lot if u put your foot higher up and not near their ankle just saying my horse knows the same trick and i used to do the same but putting ur foot higher helps sooo much the horse is stronger in that spot rather than the hoof

It's Me :) :
I would be afraid of putting in too much stress on leg joints but it's not my horse🤷 I will say that I knew a gentleman once who taught their horse a "mount" command to spread their legs way out [spread eagle 🤸] lowering the height of their back because he was a little vertically challenged.

Try teaching the bow…. I did it with my 18.2 boy when I was younger. I loved trail riding with him but he was too tall for my 4 foot 5 inches as a kid even at 5’3 was still impossible to mount from ground without an aid. So the bow became a god sent in situations

Cheerleading tip- you’re double bouncing meaning you’re jumping on her leg twice. Bend your supporting leg on the ground and then press into your other to get up and you’ll get a lot more height!

I taught my gelding this, it really helped to train it as a stretch and push down on the foot and have him push back. Increase pressure then use your foot to push down, all without trying to mount.
eventually he got so good at resisting the pressure that I didnt have to bounce up at all, I could stand on one foot on his hoof and just swing over! it takes a LOT of time building up that strength though, I think it took like 6 months 😅

Start rewarding only for successful attempts! Cause I know it’s not the horse, but with this method they’ll start learning that the more you have to attempt, the more treats they’ll get. So they might actually stop trying as hard to hold you up, so that they can get more treats. They’re smart!
