He's probably the only character that made me feel entirely like myself as a child that was being abused, i would wait by the TV just for a new episode when I was going through intense physical and psychological abuse, this show still taught me how to still be me, its sad and funny, he made me feel content not knowing my mom but knowing she's done bad things but still wanting her love, and how to be content that not even my dad was in my life, the gems remind me of aunts I had and women that impacted me in the foster system. on my birthday my sister called me for the first time in years just to tell me that this whole time I had the same birthday as him. This show means so very much to me. I think I'm a nicer person because of it, all of it. 💚💿

Thats why I like steven universe future. young protagonists in cartoons go through stuff like this all the time and just move along normally, but steven universe future explores this trauma to help stevens character

когда я смотрела вселенную стивена меня ни на минуту не покидало чувство обиды за Стивена. самоцветы видят в нем свою бывшую подругу, но никак его самого. они на протяжении нескольких сезонов подавляли в нем личность и при этом Стивен остаётся ребенком который потерял собственную мать даже не видев ее вживую. это так больно осознавать что та же жемчуг относилась к Стивену с теплотой просто из-за того что она видит в нем розу, мне так его жаль😭

he was just a baby, all rose wanted was a normal human life for him, but the gems couldn’t let go of rose, so they had to pressure Steven into using his powers, like with the cats or him turning old it’s really painful to see him go through this, also witnessing the gems getting poofed rose didn’t want this for him

It's so sad how he tried so hard to not be his mom, but that's exactly what happened by the end of the show. He hated himself and saw himself as a monster.. And his mom felt the same. Rose struggled with self loathing, she hated herself so deeply. She didn't think spinel would actually care enough to stay in the garden for her. She didn't think the diamonds would care if she was "shattered" She wanted to give up herself to become someone better than she could ever be, but didn't realize that everyone she ever knew loved her so deeply.

I forget which, but in one episode he flexes to Sadie and Lars about a small scrape he got on his forehead from a rock and Lars said he was “overdramatizing it” or something similar. In SU future, on Steven’s X-ray, on the SAME SPOT was a GIANT CRACK TO HIS SKULL
