I feel this to the core. It’s sad to look back and see the damage that was done not noticing it in the moment. We can’t ever get those days back and that’s the hard part just gotta keep moving forward knowing we overcame something that many people don’t and that’s the good to get from it. It’s hard to see the good in a world full of hate and part of the reason I ever got into that spot in the first place but glad I came across somebody to relate to

I won’t stop telling my story either. I once was convinced I was a powerless addict and I could never use substances in moderation. Everyone told me i was my sponsor my group I saw it all around me. I worked the steps I sponsored guys I got a job in treatment but one day I questioned everything was I really powerless over substance? I figured out I wasn’t I can use moderation with certain helpful substances. I was only powerless because I admitted I was. I’m not an addict I’m just someone who struggled with substance use disorder. I don’t need to make addiction my whole life or personality today I’m truly free. Congratulations on your journey!

Literally my life. Been sober almost 3 years now! I didn’t graduate either because I just stopped going due to being sick. Worst mistake of my life but hey at least I’m still here because it could’ve been worse. Congrats on being sober now!

Elle. you have plenty of time still. college doesn't guarantee anything now. Study the different trades and pick what suits you 🙂 Probably better. 😁

same. and you never realize how much time ur wasting in addiction till 5+ years have passed and you wake one day unable to recognize yourself in the mirror. like what have I become? What parts of myself have I sacrificed for this lifestyle of escapism and avoidance? am I too far gone? do I have the power or energy to
