Thoughts?  Just to be 100% clear, i’m not saying barbell squats, bench press, and deadlifts are “bad” exercises and that you should never do them.  They are all fantastic movements that could have a place in any strength and hypertrophy program.  My issue is with these exercises being put on a pedestal and considered the end all being all for their respective muscle groups.  They’re all great exercises, but they are not without their limitations and we need to stop pretending that any of them are an absolute necessity in your training regimen.  If hypertrophy is your goal and you want to maximize your time in the gym + train as efficiently as possible, there are far “better” exercises you could and should be doing.  For chest training, dumbbell presses and machine presses are going to offer you far more range of motion and stability than a standard barbell bench press.  For training quads, hack squats and pendulum squats are going to allow you to better stimulate your quads and reach failure safely without being limited by your ability to balance a heavy barbell on your back.  For deadlifts, literally just do any other back exercise.  Personally, I enjoy doing all these movements, but I’d never fool myself into thinking that because I like them it means they’re superior to every other exercises out there.  Just some food for thought.
