Building a Waterside Haven: Creating a Safe Cat House by the Pond Since relocating all our stray cats to this expansive 4,000 to 5,000 square meter area, I've noticed that they are irresistibly drawn to the pond. Whether they're watching the fish swim or simply daydreaming by the water's edge, the cats - both adults and kittens - seem to have a special affection for water. This constant fascination, however, raises safety concerns, especially with playful kittens who might accidentally fall into the water. Understanding the risks, I decided to build a waterside rescue cat house by the pond. This structure not only provides additional housing but also serves as a safe haven for any cat that might find itself in the water. Using available wooden materials, I began constructing a two-story cat house. The first floor features an overwater platform, ideal for installing a rescue bridge to assist cats in climbing back to safety. Throughout the construction, the cats were curious and often came to inspect the progress - sometimes even climbing the 3-meter-high pillars! Safety was a priority, so I ensured all wood was securely fixed with 12 cm screws. Auxiliary ladders were added to both levels to accommodate cats of all climbing abilities. The interior was thoughtfully arranged with warm cotton mats for comfort, and the roof was waterproofed with black rubber mats to keep the interior dry during rain. By early morning, many of the cats had already begun to explore their new home, finding cozy spots to rest. This project not only enhances the cats' living environment but also brings peace of mind knowing they have a safe space by the pond. Watching them enjoy the new cat house is truly rewarding. It's moments like these that make all the hard work worthwhile. To all the quiet supporters who like, comment, share, and follow our journey - your kindness doesn't go unnoticed. Thank you for being a part of our mission to create a safe and happy haven for these wonderful cats. #CatHouse #StrayCats #CatRescue #FelineFriends #AnimalShelter #DIYProjects #CatLovers #PetSafety #HappyCats #AnimalCare
