Sounds logical, right? WRONG! In reality, if the back of your neck is shortened and tight, your front will always feel out of balance. When the back of your neck shortens - whether from posture habits, body compensations or even from the way you hold your tongue - it pulls your head forward. For example, when your tongue rests low in your mouth instead of on your upper palate, your head often shifts forward as a compensation. This forward head position creates strain in your neck, leading to lymphatic stagnation, puffiness under the chin, platysma bands and sagging neck. Your body is always trying to find balance. If the back becomes tight, the front takes on extra tension. If the front is tight, the back adjusts in response. Don’t forget about sides as well. So to truly release and lift the front of your neck, you need to work on the back, especially in those areas that feel sticky, dense, and glued down in the fascia. Releasing them allows your head to realign naturally, frees your jawline and improves lymphatic flow. Don’t chase imperfection. Address the real source of the issue - and your results will last.
