I think we had the same teachers! Same colored ink, white out was the unpardonable sin. 500 word essays were nothing. My teachers had us writing 5,000 word term papers by hand with an exact word count listed at the end.

I had to measure out margins on all 4 sides and no lined paper, spelling and penmanship counted of course.

I used to micro print.... then I worked out if I didn't I could fix the 1 page instead of the whole thing.... and never write one without having 3 of the same pen
