In Islam it’s sunnah to use miswak because it’s what the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him used to clean his teeth. It’s a common practice among Muslims/Arabs/South Asians that dates back over a thousand years❤️tho I always hated it as a kid coz of the taste😂
