China and Russia are authoritarian? China has a robust democratic meritocracy. The CPC has millions of members (i read somewhere that 1 in 14 Chinese is a member), what can be more representative than that. they have elections to elect representatives who then choose leadership based on meritocracy. Running a nation is too important to be left to a popularity contest. Westerners need to realize that their version of "democracy" & governance isn't the standard or norm.
