U are a tow truck u DON’T have the same luxury as the police, fire truck or ambulance u are last to be called to tow vehicles away I’ll never move out of the way of a tow truck on the road with there lights on. Yes I’ll move over for them on the side of the road or at an accident scene

These guys are based out of Missouri USA they are allowed to run red and blue lights as long as they are going to a call requested by highway patrol.

My question is, why does a tow truck need lights and sirens? Isn’t their whole job to clean up and tow the wreck AFTER the emergency has been dealt with?

people dont understand that tow trucks are as vital as all other emergency vehicles, the quicker the roads are back moving the less chance of a pile up further down thus saving lives

no mater tow truck or not you have to use due regard. you are only asking for the right away they don't have to move unless it is an actual emergency vehicle.

Tow trucks are not first responders. I did heavy duty towing and recovery for yrs. We absolutely were not allowed to respond like this. If we were requested an expedited response we were police escorted

Tow trucks are classified as emergency vehicles with restrictions. People dont have to yield for one. It’s just common courtesy to yield for one, not illegal.
