I thought my son was deaf until he was 3, we already started sign language with him despite the Drs tests that insurance quit paying for that came back normal. Turns out he's autistic and was just completely uninterested with us. lmao.

Again emphasis: 1. Baby girl is Deaf. 2. She had a hearing test before this AND after this video. She did not pass either including the specialized ABR test. 3. She has a few Deaf family members including me and her dad.

I'm horrified by the ableism in the comments. Deaf people have culture, history, and language. we are full human beings with the right to choose for ourselves whether or not we want to be "cured". Deafness is not an affliction, it is not a curse, it is not a horrible life altering travesty.

Parents did this with me as a kid and thought I was until they took me to the doctor. The doctor said “let me try something” and un wrapped a candy bar and I shot to attention lol turns out I was just really lazy 😭

My brother was deaf until the age of 2 almost three when we realized he was reading our mouths and couldn’t hear ANYTHING. Poor kid. He struggles a little now due to it. But we had ZERO clue because he acted like he could hear us and everything 😭
