they called them comfort women in Korea and China. Mothers, duaghters, aunts, they were taken to 'satisfy' the Japanese soldiers. It's one of the ma y cruelties Japan has yet to apologize for...they probably never will.

My Filipino grandmother said her young mom begged the Japanese to take her to her daughter's place. She never returned home. Till this day my family lights a candle at foot of the mountain believed to be her graveyard with other comfort women.

I still don’t forget how they took down the statue of Filipino comfort women in the Philippines. Take note, the Philippines are PRESSURED BY JAPAN to dismantle the statue. They didn’t even acknowledged what they did, what makes me even mad is that It isn’t in their history books.

This movie made me realize during war that men weren't the only victims, those caught in the crossfire of war suffered as well. This movie is so sad but a masterpiece, a must watch at least once in your life. Rest in peace to all who suffered in all wars.

I know I wasn’t there for when it happened, but as someone with Japanese descent I want to apologize on behalf of Japan since they won’t for all that happened to the Chinese, Korean, and Filipino people. Nothing will fix the pain but I hope someday Japan will take responsibility for its actions.
