if there are only a small amount of players, why would a company keep sinking money into servers that are super old. Sounds like a basic buisness decision?

i avoid most live games on principle, most of them are overmonetized and buggy, usually claiming they will patch it. After Anthem fiasco i began to meticulously filter what games i buy and iron rule was establised "no pre-buy games".

It’s a stupid movement. You have any idea how much it costs to keep a server live? Even a free multiplayer game costs the developers a lot to allow multiplayer. Only solution is to develop games with peer to peer connection or have it singleplayer. Can’t expect a multiplayer game to last forever because it costs money to keep going.
