Omg! This is exactly how I looked in January! I had a total knee replacement on my right knee. I hope your recovery goes well!

I didn’t make it past one week with the TED socks. But I elevated big time and iced and the swelling went right down. But elevated above my heart most hours of the day

Day 17: they didn't send home TED stockings because I said I had compression socks - but they would hit my incision so just lots of elevation for me. Showered Day 6 & they told me to pull the dressing & let it air out but I got glued.

That’s why my PT said compression sock should go over thigh. Good luck with recovery. It will get better

Also UK and 3 days post second knee replacement. No stockings this time but Rivaroxaban tablets instead. Dissolvable stitches for 2 weeks but very painful currently!

My doctor let me take my compression socks because it was tight. It hurt and was uncomfortable more so than my knee. I made sure to so the foot/ankle foot bend exercises they said to do to help prevent a blood clot.

Did you say "Can't shower yet". OMG, why? waterproof bandage means you should be able to shower. Those are Thigh High compression stockings. Pull them up as far as possible above the knee. Palmer's Coco butter Formula with vitamin E to message the incision as soon as possible reduces thickness and appearance. Rub thumbs in tiny circles pressing down up and down the incision. I hope your healing process goes well.

Hi from the UK. I am 4 week post op. Different countries use different ways. I have not had compression socks, I had anti clotting injections for 15 days. I had dissolve stitches and glue, band strip removed after 2 weeks so able to shower. I put frozen peas on swelling for first week and occasionally now. Walking in home without crutches and doing excercises as given. Hot water bottle occasionally to help blood flow. I’m 69 and overweight but I’m so glad despite the pain that I have had it done. Good luck to you it will be so nice when you get your shower. Stay safe

I wore my thigh high compression at night, only taking off during day for shower (was able to full shower after 1 week) and lotioning leg - not incision. Elevate toes above nose.

I hate the compression hose! My dr says 3 weeks for the stupid things. I’m 1 week + 1 day.
