It’s possible, I did it 5 days ago, it was just as bad. Get a tweezer to lift up the nail as hard as you can. This will hurt. And then get a nailbed scissor. Go as close as you can to the bed of the nail. Ensure you have a sizeable piece of nail, so it does not rip off horizontally. You need it to go deep down the nail. It works by making a cut/deep ridge in the nail, all the way down to the bed. You can do this

He should go see a podiatrist. I did the same thing and lived with pain for years. The only pain I felt for the surgery was the needle to freeze my toe. After that there was zero pain, even in healing. You just keep it soaked in polysporin until it heals.

At a certain point, it’s not fixable by yourself. I went 1.5 years think that always in pain. Finally went to the doc, they cut both sides of the nail out to the cuticle and its fixes. They will freeze the tow but it will hurt for like 3 days

I did it Mt self I have a high pain tolerance I didn't realize u need numbing spray for it haha I just trooper through but it was the best kind of pain like the pain and relief cause mine was bad I couldn't even touch my toe but yea don't recommend

well he's American so going to get it done in a Healthcare setting costs money, even those doing it yourself can have far worse consequences, but when you don't have free Healthcare like the rest of the freee first world nations, you have to be your own doctor because it's too expensive to have a basic health need met.
