School Nurse, here… we’ll be calling. Also stomach aches can be a sign of anxiety and/or stress. I will always have them drink water, use the restroom and lay down to rest. Depending on the student, I’ll get the counselor or contact the parent directly. Another thing to factor in– students will eat lunch then go play which in turns creates stomachaches. As a mother, I believe in children having “mental health” days by ditching school. Children need them just like adults. The amount of stress the schools put on our children is not healthy. So let them take the mental health day they need. My daughter will tell me when she needs one. I don’t care about my children getting awards for no missed days at school, their mental health matters more than anything else.

Stomach hurting is a sign of anxiety. Which seems to show up in kids that are 4th grade and up. Also if at that age they are starting to complain about headaches a lot they may start to be having migraines Don’t dismiss those complaints as nothing.

Jokes aside , when kid complaints about stomach hurting before goes to school , that kid is nervous and don’t like something happens at school. Talk to your kid.

stomach hurts could be stress and or anxiety about certain things in school. and may not hit until that time of the day. my kid has many of those days I'm starting to figure it out.

Honestly, even as adults, our stomachs hurt from stress and anxiety when we're at work. Trust and believe I'll make sure my bills are always paid up, but I'm also going to use PTO and get some rest to myself because it's necessary.
