Nancy Meyer’s production designer has a YouTube channel “daddystayshome” where he discusses the creative process and looks if the various sets. He also talks about films he didn’t personally work on, like the house in Home Alone etc. Highly recommend

Gibbons designed a beautiful Art Moderne house for Delores del Rio. It's wonderful that a man of such rare talent was able to work in what could be called a fantasy job. MGM had the budget to build his fantasies.

The Gibbons MGM designers were also inspiration for the interiors of The Fountainbeau Miami by Morris Lapidus. You can see the similarities in the colums, polished tile and Roman esthetics. He even built a staircase to nowhere, much like a movie set. The success lead to Lapidus being hired for Caesars Palace and created the standard for hotel interior design for decades.
