My mom was 54 when she first started showing signs of Alzheimer’s, she died at 64. It’s the cruelest disease ever.

It amazes me how daughters make it about themselves when clearly it’s NOT!! Take your Mum home for the love of God!

Take her home!! I took care of my mother till she passed. 1700 miles is unacceptable and 4x a year is an excuse!! Flip the table would she do that to you!! Nope!! You will deep regret when she passes. I do and she was in her home but I took care of her. The only regret I have is I didn’t get more time. Because she didn’t tell me she was sick.

Why can’t you take her home with you? I tahe care of my Mom at my home and work full time for the last 7 years. It’s possible. God will make a way. I knew my Mom would not have wanted to live in a nursing home either.

This is very sad, leaving your parents is stressful, being a full time caregiver is stressful!!!!…. There’s no winning in this chapter of life.

Some of these comments are BS. You don’t know until it happens to you. These men are hell sent and harmful sometimes. Lay off. Some people don’t have 27 brothers and sisters and a cooperative significant other to help.

Family needs to be there every day. Nursing homes are very abusive to the people. They are animals to the people.

You know what’s harder than emotional pain, regret. Go see your Mom! Be her advocate. No excuses. Being uncomfortable is normal! Show up, be a comfort for her. It’s gut wrenching, but show up anyway! I know, I went through this with my Mom. I had no regrets, because I visited my Mom every single day!

If you watched my videos from my first visit to her memory care, I will say that her memory may have gotten worse, but she was stronger on her feet, less shaking and cleaner. We had some happy moments which I will post. Thank you all for following and loving my mom.

The mom looks clean and taken care of. We shouldn’t be judgemental here. We have all our problems…and we don’t know what’s going on with her daughter’s life. Taking care of an elderly with dementia or alzheimers is a 24 hr care. I was a nurse for 40 yrs and had been dealing with such patients… my mother has an early stage of dementia and luckily I have 2 sisters both retired who lives beside each other so they share taking care of her back home in the Philippines. Still, even if they have no small kids to take care, it’s tough to take care of her because she is not oriented and touches things she shouldn’t or can just walk out the house etc… Imagine her daughter with small kids, job, husband to juggle all at the same time? It needs a 24 hour care…
