aircraft mechanic here. fish smell has taken aircraft out of service. the capt should always reject the aircraft. we then have to remove all panels to find the smell

I KNOW THIS FLIGHT! There was a college softball team on it. Their equipment needed to be thrown Away/ given to the equipment room to be washed / taken care of. Coaches and players were not happy.

When I was a kid we flew home from Hawaii. Someone brought a frozen fish in their carryon. It wasn’t frozen by the time we flew 5 hours.

In 2000 I flew out to California to visit my brother and we went on a charter boat. I wanted to keep all the fish. I triple bagged it, froze it and flew from California to Michigan in my checked bag 🤣🤣🤣

That happened to me on a flight once. But what you’re not considering is everyone’s luggage. Mine reeked of fish so bad when I got it. I was overseas traveling through Brazil so it was not a great situation.
