They had never missed a school recital, Rarity custom-tailored all her dresses, and Fancypants would always brush her mane before they attended important social events. Lavender’s favorite memories were when her mother would read to her bedtime stories filled with tales of gallant knights, enchanted forests, and true love. They were the best parents any filly could ask for. But as Lavender grew up, she began to notice a few things. Like how her parents had separate bedrooms in their wing of the manor. Or how they never shared that special look in their eyes when they were around each other. Or how her father would only politely kiss her mother on the hoof or the cheek.
