I told my 22 yo employed, college grad to stay at home for 18-24 months. Pay off her car, her stu loan (minimal by comparison), start saving for retirement, and save for “life”. She’ll be in a good financial position by age 25. Stu loans are the worst. I hope my son can find a job near home so he can make the same decision in a few years. We couldn’t afford to pay for college, so I’ll help them pay for life until they’re in a good financial spot. Millennials were raised by “pick yourself up by your bootstraps, while I hold my boot on your neck” boomers. They would be on the receiving end of more criticism.
