It’s part of our jobs to talk while you’re waiting for your drinks and cultivate kindness. they tell us if the customer isn’t chatty to talk about ourselves, the weather, the drinks etc

Coming from someone who works at 7 brew we have to make conversation with our customers. With that being said what ever happened to being social and kind. They are working hard to get YOU your drinks. There need to be more kind people in the world because we really are heading towards no empathy for one another altogether.

at sbux we are required to ‘get to know something about the customer’ and basically keep the window open and keep the conversation going until your stuff is ready, if i run out of questions i do just be talking about myself

I think they’re told to like talk to you while you wait, I go everyday before work and they just rant the whole time, I even went to a different location one time and they still sat and talked to me the whole time… i dont know I feel like maybe it’s something they’re told to do
