This explains perfectly what my narc mother does. Perfectly! I’ve even seen her meet people at parties and within 5 minutes she’ll start telling them who they are. A couple of times there’s been pushback where people have told her she’s obnoxious and arrogant. But she still does it. She’s creating a snapshot, establishing the idea of the person in her mind, rather than actually connecting with them.

Fact. They try to attack me using things they know about me that they perceive as “my weakness”, but it tells me more about their own insecurities regarding me and what according to them I did to hurt them. It’s all “revenge” bc I don’t want them in my life.

What’s crazy, is after 2 years in this. At the end before I left for good, he kept telling me I challenged his frame. He never explained what that meant… but now I know it means that I saw the mask slip, called it out and challenged his false self.

During Covid, I refuse to cut my hair. It went from 2 inches to 10 inches. That was the beginning of the end of my 14 year mar. He tried so hard to force me to cut it. He said he didn’t know me anymore.
