Couldn’t agree more. Schools have been receiving blank checks for years on the backs of students.

It’s a 100% to stop the greed from universities. Education costs skyrocketed with the creation of the federal student loan programs

because there's no reason for college's to be charging that much. They only do it because of the federal government student loans.

Have always said this about college tuition in general. No way a Bachelor’s degree should cost $130K-150K

People borrow money and never even complete the education. Wasted tax dollars spent. It’s time people begin to be responsible. Granddaughters graduates with very little debt because they worked and saved money and earned scholarship. Many of their friends didn’t apply for scholarships or work. Came out with hundreds of thousands in debt.

You know what, I appreciate this perspective. Hopefully they will lower the cost instead of doubling down and having students having to obtain private loans.

The cap was above your tuition. Now, this cap is well below what is needed to obtain a 4 year medical degree. It does not force schools to lower tuition costs, but it may force students to take private loans or give up their dream.

Colleges raised the prices because they knew the federal government was just going to give unlimited aid to students. Money and aid doesn’t just come from thin air, it has to come from somewhere.
