People borrow money and never even complete the education. Wasted tax dollars spent. It’s time people begin to be responsible. Granddaughters graduates with very little debt because they worked and saved money and earned scholarship. Many of their friends didn’t apply for scholarships or work. Came out with hundreds of thousands in debt.

yeah the reason why college is so expensive is because the federal government backs up the loans. anyone can get it, it's usually 100% approved. and since the federal government backs it and guarantees the payment of the loan. schools just jacked up the prices.

It’s a 100% to stop the greed from universities. Education costs skyrocketed with the creation of the federal student loan programs

You know what, I appreciate this perspective. Hopefully they will lower the cost instead of doubling down and having students having to obtain private loans.

It’s more complicated than that. What were the technology costs in the 80s? What were the accreditation requirements?

Exactly! My whole thought in why he did this was to get schools to make college more reasonable. It’s insane how much it costs to go to college.

Hopefully it will create some competition and prices will drop. Not sure that will occur though, kids have to apply to several schools trying to get in. Schools seem to maintain a full class of students. We need more doctors so do we need more schools? I guess time will tell.

because there's no reason for college's to be charging that much. They only do it because of the federal government student loans.
