@pawsitiveinfluenc: Sometimes, they cry for a reason. Her cries led me back to the shelter, where I found out her brother was dying. He was dying of FIP. I’ve fostered a cat with FIP before. In Germany, treatment isn’t legally available through vets, but I knew I couldn’t let him die in that shelter. So I brought him home, expecting to give him comfort at the end. But what happened next… felt like a miracle. - - Follow for more rescue stories: @pawsitiveinfluenc Support my foster journey, venmo: @pawsitiveinfluenc #FIPWarriorC#CatRescueStoryF#FosterCatsF#FIPAwarenessC#CatAdvocate##rescuecatsofinstagram#F#FIPTreatmentS#ShelterCatLoveC#CatSiblingsC#CompassionInActionC#CatsofInstagramFosterJourney

We adopted a kitten, first time we’d ever got a kitten because we always took him the oldest / least likely to be adopted cat, but I desperately wanted to experience a kitten. She cried so much as we drove away in the car it broke my heart, so we immediately did a u turn and went back and got one of her siblings ❤️

I was fostering a kitten that I decided to keep after finding out she had health problems. She ended up being pregnant. (The vet thought she just had a litter but she was actually carrying). She had 4 babies. After adopting out one of them she had meltdown, a cat that NEVER went outside the litter box was peeing everywhere, wasn’t eating, she didn’t want me touching the other kittens anymore, she cried and cried. She had them so young and was so attached to them already. 2 years later, mommy is still with her babies. I couldn’t put her through that again and I just have 3 extra kitties. 🤷🏻♀️

Did her brother survive? (Also for people in Germany: while your vet can‘t legally treat the cat there are many ways to get the medicine. It is expensive but the only way for a cat with FIP to survive. There are organizations (they have websites and/or facebook pages) you can talk to about it and some vets will give you advice and places to turn to (unofficially of course))

when I adopted my cat, she didnt eat or move from one spot for a week, found out she used to have a brother with her at the adoption place, someone adopted her brother and left her there until we adopted her. really sad to tear a sibling apart

this is how feel whenever people say a cat is feral because they hiss and scratch. I've raised dozens of cats that seemed feral but turned out they were scared or mistreated and they all turned into some of the most loveable and appreciative cats that I miss everyday

Most kittens begin receiving vaccinations by 6-8 weeks of age. The switch to FIP generally does not occur until 6 months to 2 years of age. If kittens receive this new FIP vaccine during the beginning immunization stage, they should be properly protected against the disease.
Vaccinations work. < Via UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine 😊🌷

I treated both of my FIP cats myself years ago, they’re very healthy now! I can’t believe the vets wanted me to put them down and they’re still alive after the treatment!

We have a bonded pair. They lose it if one is downstairs and the other is upstairs, I can’t imagine them being apart. I’m so glad you got both. 💙💙💙
