Did you know that there yews are more common in churchyard than in the open country? And many of those yews, like this one, are older than Christianity. They probably signify sites that were holy in pagan times and were later adopted by Christians.

If only trees could talk ......well, they can, kind of, so let me rephrase.......If only trees could speak our language. It's insane to think how much this Yew has borne witness to, and I bet it has some stories to tell.

Also yew was where touch wood expression came from as early Christian’s incorporated yew trees into the new religion hence why they are found in graveyards
