You shouldn't punish the children, a card with a message about how much you love them is sufficient gift. It's not a punishment to not receive a gift. If the kids ask, just say you thought we weren't exchanging gift anymore because your kids didn't receive them.

I always put *gifts are optional* so everyone feels welcome BUT if an invitation doesn't specify, then bring one. and if you dont spoil your nieces and nephews like your own children get spoiled on birthdays, dont go and make them feel sad

No. My brother has 4 I have 1. They expected me to buy for all 4 of theirs but they couldn’t for my 1. Everybody will receive equally. 0😁

nope. I got my nephews gifts for bday/Xmas for 14 yrs before I had kids. yet my kids have never gotten gifts. if we are invited to their parties I will bring something but it's low effort like a gift card. 🤷♀️

i would just send a gift of something your nephew is in to, (has no control over who brings what) via Amazon & either not go or stay for a cake and food and go. IMO YTAH. y'all are grown, communicate. tf

This was something we dealt with for Christmas. We get the parents (34,30) and kids(2,4) gifts and they’d occasionally give us like a single hot coco mug… 🫥 for my family of 4

The gifts would’ve been kept at home for the nephews to play with when they come to visit. When kids are that young it’s the parents who are be benefiting not having to buy their kids toys cause relatives and friends gift them.
