This is such a good point! Thank you for sharing. I learned this very late and to my detriment. I would also add that these insecure men can be very envious of other aspects of your life - intelligence, success at work, financial adundance, likability etc. doesn’t have to be a partner but could even be a coworker. The punishment is unrelenting
