Okay, I’m just gonna say this once, and if you know, you know, but please, for the love of subtlety, don’t comment anything long here. I get it, you have thoughts, reactions, emotions, maybe even a whole paragraph to drop... but TikTok’s algorithm is wild. The more comments a video gets, especially long ones, the more it signals the app to push it out further. And I don’t think any of us want this video showing up on everyone's For You Page, right? It’s not about censorship or trying to gatekeep, it’s about keeping things lowkey. The longer the comments, the stronger the engagement signal, and that tells the algorithm: ‘Hey! People love this, show it to more people!’ Even if the message is ‘this shouldn't be on my FYP,’ TikTok doesn’t care it just sees activity. Also, don’t be fooled it’s not even the content of the video that decides what shows up next. It’s the hashtags underneath. TikTok feeds you what it thinks you want based on those little tags and who interacts with them. So if you’re seeing more of this type of content or from this creator, it’s likely not a coincidence, it’s the tags working overtime. So yeah, if you wanna be safe or keep things from spiraling, resist the urge to type a whole essay. Keep comments short, vague, or better yet, leave a dot or emoji. It’s not about hiding, it’s about keeping things from blowing up. Stay aware. Scroll wisely. Protect your feed, and protect the vibe.
