The NWS and NOAA have taken huge cuts and he put people in charge that have no idea what there doing. They have no experience in these departments, just loyalty to trump. It's gonna get so much worse. and now with FEMA being cut, they can't get the help they will need. And it's happening to the very people that voted for this.

It's so frustrating! While emergency alerts are an important tool, true preparedness requires more than last-minute warnings, especially for known risks like flash flooding.
Texas officials have had years to invest in resilient infrastructure, advanced monitoring systems, and coordinated evacuation plans for these exact scenarios. Low-frequency, high-risk events demand proactive mitigation, not reactive scrambling after the fact.
The question isn't just 'Why weren't warnings better?' but 'Why are we still unprepared when history keeps repeating itself?' Accountability and long-term planning must replace the cycle of disaster-response excuses.

These poor people had no warning. 3-5” the forecast said. It was 12” of rain. The river went up 20ft overnight. This could have been avoided with funding for forecasting.
