If you have an editor wanting to see the full manuscript once agented, is that usually just polite lip service or would editors only say that if genuinely a bit interested?

Thanks, that’s extremely helpful. Makes total sense but publishing seems so quirky and everyone talks about how slowly it moves so I wasn’t sure
