2700 Kroger stores US. ~410,000 employees. 16 mil/410,000 is about $39 yearly salary increase for Kroger employees. Go take a math course. Not arguing against the morality of that just the feasibility. There are no easy answers.

This video is hard for me. I love Kroger. They employ disabled people and stood with DEI. But they do price gouge and recently being sued for not giving advertised discounts.

Local grocery stores/bodegas are not franchised by big businesses… the reason food deserts exist is often because grocery stores in those areas were family owned but could not operate with a 2-3% profit margin because even petty crime, let alone more violent crimes, costed that profit margin if not more…
