100%. I wrote my Master’s dissertation on this, using Operation Dudula as a case study for how refugee rights are affected by anti-foreigner sentiments. This is ultimately a governance issue and vigilantism isn’t the way to go about it. The anger is justified but definitely misplaced

It’s not a mater of being selective, it’s matter of following the the laws. The reason why immigrants from Europe, Australia ect… are not facing all of this backlash is that they come in documented, they pay taxes and they pay for healthcare. As a person that has lived in another country I couldn’t get the country with medical insurance and soon after that I had to go through social security so that I pay for taxes. And we can speak over surveys because they not always accurate and no offence my sister you need to go on the ground and see want’s happening it’s completely horrible for locals. Some immigrants think they own us they fuel drug use, prostitution and crime and the cherry on top our police minister is in too (allegedly) so unfortunately we will take matters in to our own hands.

The problem is that people are too educated and want to find reasoning. Go to the hood now and see how many matriculants are unemployed. Then go to your nearest Frenchies restaurant and tell me how many foreigners you see working there. This is a Everything problem, all the way from migration, healthcare and security just to name a few. People are really affected by this and that 5% that you just mentioned, it's too much already.

You got facts but reality is they must relocate and become official citizens of SA and abide by the rules, law and order i.e. pat taxes. Because so far you too haven't seen a Pakistan inside Absa, Fnb etc banking money. Question is "Where do they put the capital they generate thru their businesses? And that money ends up?

Stats are important and so are lived experiences expressed by those who live in that reality. I live in a beautiful home in a nice neighbourhood, I have medical aid and live pretty well. If someone outside of my reality tells me, these are my issues, I’m in no position to say otherwise. I’ll never tell people using public healthcare what their “real” problems are.
