Come to love where you’re moving to. Don’t make it like the last home, make it a new home

You gotta let go and accept the reality that this is ur beginning, this is where your story starts and now you write a new one. (Source: same tbh idk WHAT I'm doing either 😭 been having those feelings bad lately)

I'm not close with my family so that part didn't bother me at all, but the rest was surprisingly easy to get used to. I moved 3 hours away from everything I've ever known and I couldn't be happier about it. I like my job here more. rent costs less. I don't have any friends here, but I barely had any before the move either lol

Start looking toward the new beginnings and unknowns and possibilities and opportunities you’re creating, instead of away from them 🙂

a fairly regular catch up session with someone from home kinda helps, especially on facetime or something. Just know it gets better and worse all the time and you get used to it.

Depends on why you moved but the grass is always greener on the other side and congrats, you’re on the other side!

I spent a few months wondering why I did it but now 7 months later I have built family, friends and connections I never would have found! And learned so much about myself in the first few months of solitude. I still think about home but I’ve also made one here and don’t have to give up my old one.

It honestly just takes time. It was so scary at first but change is just scary. It’s what makes us grow. It forces us to grow. I really struggled leaving the small town I lived in for my entire life but I eventually realized just bc I left doesn’t mean the town did. Home will always be there to go back to. Go experience the world while you can!

Quite litterally you have to find random beauty in everything, the way the sun rises and sets, how it’s different, how the trees sway, the different type of trees, and after about a year or so you discover that you have found something that is infinitely better and now you start finding new favorite spots, new favorite times of the year, new favorite places to watch the sky. It’s a slow process but you appreciate everything so so so so much more

i moved and absolutely thrived in my new city. you cry and grieve and visit and keep in touch. but otherwise learn to love the new place. find the hidden gems, go for walks and explore the local shops and restaurants. all in due time. if you hate it, move again 🤷♀️life is long

it's heartbreaking, but I remember that I wouldn't feel so bad if I didn't love and be loved so much. the sadness is proof of love

It sucks - but also - opportunity for new favorite coffee shops and new friends that become family - those other things never leave you tho, and you will miss it. But there’s so much out there to experience

i just did this last year and it sucked so bad at first but i'm finally adjusting. force yourself to do things even by yourself. get out of the house and explore. call your family when you feel lonely. block out time to go visit. decorate your new house immediately. it'll start to feel familiar before you know it

Idk girl, I’ve actually been desperately craving getting away from the place I’ve grown up. I feel so trapped and stuck like I’ll never get to make it on my own and be my own person
