It's okay, I prefer working with hardware. As long as someone can keep the printers away from us all 🤣

Unfortunately light bulbs are all software now. One embedded eng, one backend, 2 frontend, 2 qa, a dba, a sysad, a manager, a project manager, a product manager, a tech writer, 4 support...

As A programmer, don’t most programmers first study computer science completely, including hardware?

Nah, we need an app to deploy the hardware guy to the right place. If you want the lightbulb fixed this quarter, we're going to need facilities to give us an inventory of every light bulb in the office. Then we're going to need an interface of employees, and a new department to assign employees to offices and maintain the inventory of light bulbs to those same offices. The back end and ticketing system will require 1 named user and 4 concurrent users for access to cloud and reporting services, so maintenance fees will *only* be $1000/mo.

this joke is really old... and also programmers are mostly pretty good with diy Hardware. this would be better nowadays if the answer would be: 7!
A Po who figures out it's broken, a scrum master to schedule the ticket, at least 2 peers for estimating story points, one that does it, a QA engineer to make sure it's fixed and a release Manager to write the changelog.
