@irishamericanexplorer: SAVE THIS LIST ✨ Holding a baby lamb was a bucket list item for us 😅 and it happened unexpectedly one day on a tour of the Ring of Kerry, but if you’re looking to plan the experiencr, here’s a little guide to petting baby lambs in Ireland. 🐑 📍 Dingle Peninsula, County Kerry – Hold a Baby Lamb Experience (Slea Head)
Located along Slea Head Drive, this family-run experience lets you cuddle, feed, and take photos with newborn lambs, near some really amazing coastal views. It’s affordable (€4 pp) and very popular. Also, the ancient beehive huts are just steps away! 📍 Kissane Sheep Farm (Moll’s Gap, County Kerry) High on the Ring of Kerry, this working sheep farm offers sheepdog demonstrations, shearing events, and in the spring, you can pet and hold baby lambs. They combine farm education with hands-on animal interactions so it’s very family-friendly. 📍 Dingle Sheepdogs Petting Farm (Near Dingle Town, Kerry) Just outside Dingle, this is a true petting zoo-style experience with lambs, donkeys, and ponies. Kids can feed the animals (food is provided) and hold the lambs under staff supervision. It’s right near the town’s famous pubs and eateries. 📍 Dunfin Farm Sheep Experience (Ballycastle, County Antrim) Tucked into the Glens of Antrim, this Northern Irish farm offers full sheep experiences: lamb bottle-feeding, sheepdog herding demos, and sheep gathering. Tours are led by the farmer and usually take 1.5–2 hours. It’s a deeper dive into farm life than your average stop and well worth a visit. 📍 Glenarm Redspark Farm Tours (County Antrim) Another gem in Northern Ireland, this working farm in Glenarm includes lamb petting as part of its seasonal tours, along with scenic walks and a farm-to-table food option. They take small groups, so you get a more personal, immersive experience. 🇮🇪 Other Things to Know: The best season is March – May (peak lambing season). Some farms accept walk-ins, but most require online bookings. Prices can range from €4–£40 depending on location and length. #ireland #ireland🇮🇪 #ireland_insta #irelandaily #irelandtravel #irelandgram #babylamb #traveltips #irishtravel #travel #visitireland #loveireland
