Save this for must-try fried chicken 🐔 SF Must Try Pt 2: ILCHA 🦐 ILCHA means ‘first round,’ and is meant to embody the first round of food and/or drinks that you would get at a casual pub or restaurant on the scene in Korea. Some of my favorite menu items are their raw foods - raw oysters, raw soy-cured shrimp, and they recently added raw crab to their menu too! I need to go back ASAP 🙏🏻 I’ve celebrated so many friends’ birthdays here now, and I always crave ILCHA’s Korean fried chicken - honestly hands down the best I’ve had to date. ILCHA’s owner Kumi is absolutely wonderful and knows both her food and drinks - she gives the best recommendations and puts so much love and hard work into the restaurant! Get a reservation - they’re super busy but so worth it 🤤 My favorites here: - Korean Fried Chicken - Ganjang Saewoo + Gyrean Bap (raw sweet shrimp with a delicious seaweed-egg yolk rice) - Bossam + Oysters (pork belly wrapped in lettuce, oysters on the side - they recommend eating this together in one bite!) - Budae Jjigae (their most popular spicy hot pot - kimchi, spam, assorted sausages, napa cabbage, bean sprouts, onions, rice cakes, baked beans, chrysanthemum, American cheese with ramen noodles) - Kim Mari (fried seaweed rolls with japchae inside, with a sweet chili sauce) - Bulgogi Tater Tots - Hotteok (Sweet pancakes filled with brown sugar and nuts, ice cream) 📍 ILCHA 🏙 San Francisco, CA #foodswithyu #fyp #koreanfood #sffoodie #sffood
