What about when the possible cause of the drift is because we’re in different stages of life — she’s married with a child, and I’m nowhere near either of those? I never let that affect our relationship, but it feels like she makes more time for her friend who’s in the same roles, which made me feel left behind. It just makes me feel bad that I’m not at that point in my life yet, even though I hope to be someday.

How do I move on from a 25+ yr friendship with my cousin who had a super close bond with who grew up together and now she wants to walk away from it all and I’m left picking up the pieces she’s left behind. Broken friendship but still family.

Something is wrong with me because I'd say "Okay bye don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out" and moved on. Because if that person valiued our friendship as much as I did they would meet me half way to resolve whatever issue.
