Canadian here, and a victim of a serious crime…I have an understanding of why the individual did what they did to me (I have a traumatic brain injury now from the severe injuries caused) it doesn’t help or change the emotions you have to go through. Most who want to know why just want to know why for their own interests. Also, in a trial we would still find out what the prosecution thinks happened correct? We wouldn’t hear his motive as to why? So this argument doesn’t make sense to me.

I don’t mean to cause turmoil, but…..we DO have a right to know. There are open records laws and it is the STATE of Idaho against BK….not the parents of each victim prosecuting the case. BK broke STATE laws. So…..we don’t NEED to know……but it would help those of us that vote to understand what we’re supporting or not in the future. He is being given a gift of not facing the death penalty, which is an option and if he doesn’t want to plea guilty he can go to trial and HOPE to win. I’m figuring BK didn’t think he could win……

People are so upset because they wanted to see this for their own entertainment! He will be behind bars for the rest of his life. Everyone should be happy that justice was served here in the victims that were left. Alive will not have to go through the trauma of a trial. Win-win for everyone and if you’re not happy about it it’s for selfish reasons.

I disagree and agree in a way. I do believe he should have had to give a confession but it shouldn’t be public it should be only for the families if they so choose to hear it. But I absolutely don’t think the public should hear or see that

I do not understand why people think he wouldn’t lie if forced to give a full confession. I also do not understand why people think he would have given ANY confession, let alone a truthful one, at trial. He would not have. I doubt he even would have testified.

Because it would be seen as pressure to take or not take the deal. No one can pressure that decision. That's why the judge asked so many questions making sure it was BK's choice.

I think the point is that he shouldn’t get to be a part of those programs and that his words are used against him should he appeal with the loophole.
