Let’s get this straight: the river was just doing what rivers do during rainfall. The river was not responsible for the death of those kids. The funding cuts to the national weather program was the source of the devastating loss of life. Period.

Heavenly Father, In the wake of this devastating flooding on this 4th of July, our hearts are heavy for the children and families who are missing. Lord, You see every tear, hear every cry, and know every soul by name. We lift up those who are still unaccounted for—wrap them in Your protection, guide the hands of rescuers, and lead them safely home. For the families waiting in anguish, Lord, surround them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Be their strength in the unknown, their comfort in the fear, and their hope in the waiting. May they feel Your nearness and not be overcome by despair. We pray for the first responders and volunteers—grant them endurance, wisdom, and courage as they search and serve. Bless the communities coming together to support one another; may compassion overflow in this time of sorrow. God of mercy, restore what has been lost. Bring healing, bring light, bring miracles. Hold these families close in Your embrace. Remind us that even in the storm, You are still God, and You are still good. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

I’ve been wondering about the decision to place the youngest cabins so close to the river. Even under the best circumstances, you’d think they’d be the farthest away, imagine someone sneaks out at night, you’d want the youngest the farthest away from the water. I went to Camp Waldemar, and I remember the cabins being set well back from the river. I was once told they were built intentionally above the flood zone. 🥺 My heart is with all the families impacted by this tragedy.

This is just Complete Total DEVASTATION!!! I have prayed so hard for these little girls, and their families. Everyone involved!! It's just a complete Horrific time for All! Anyone who has a heart. and can think beyond anything else. These children, I cannot Stop thinking about them, their families, how terrified they had to have been. and still are! I pray that more are found! In Jesus name!! ❤️🙏 🇺🇸
