My cat left scars on my face the first year I adopted him, they would never leave my skin, but I still love him as my son. We found him down the street, he was an adult already and he was violent, skinny, hurt and traumatized. Now, 8 years later, he sleeps next to me every night, we take baths together and he's my travel partner. They're not evil nor want to hurt others, they just react to how life had treated them.

Dont give up yet! I got my dog Coral off the streets. She had been abused horribly and you could tell: she would screeam endlessly, not look at me, she would break everything in the house. A year later and she’s the sweetest most intelligent dog i ever had. All it takes is a little bit of love. You won’t regret it, altough it feels like hell sometimes cause you feel like you’re not doing enough: you already saved a soul. Be strong!!!💘

my grandparents cat got kicked out from their house by my cousin (my aunt and grandparents live in the same building just not the same floor). my aunt gave birth and when they brought the kid to my grandparents the cat wanted to attack it. the cat was always scratching and biting others, but not me. he would run up to me and jump on my lap. no cat ever done this to me, i felt special. he was part my cat at this point, and they just kicked him out. i didnt get to say goodbye. i didnt get to argue with them. they didnt even look for another house for the cat. i found a dead cat almost identical to him around 8 months later. it broke me

i don’t know how your journey is gonna go. But i feel you. Mine had the same start as yours w my pup. Ider when he started showing the signs of being reactive, but the first bite was scary, for me and him. He was so scared, sorry for what he did but still super scared. I never blamed him cause i too when i was scared i attacked someone who was trying to help me. I see my self in my dog, so ik it’s not his fault… But sometimes i still blame me, cause idk if i’m still suitable for him. Yet i can’t live w/o him, knowing that w/o me he would be put down, just cause he can’t speak how scared he is… so i’m still trying to help him have the best and peaceful life he could have, i own him at least this much since he is always there when i need him 😭😭

I don't know what happened to my shelter dog before we got her, but no matter what I do she still, after almost 4 years, lunges at me sometimes, and no matter how mad I get at her sometimes, I know that she's just my old baby. I love her with all my being still

my cat came as a scared little girl who a few months in gave birth to her kitten, it's been 2 years since she came here and she still gets anxious sometimes, but I love my girl, she loves getting pets and cuddling, her kitten is the same, he is now bigger than her, but he'll always be a baby to me

I getcha; used to have scabs and bruises all over my arms from my rescue biting on a daily. We had an amazing trainer work with us one on one to overcome her reactivity and fear, but sometimes that unattainable. It is crushing and exhausting and at times you wonder if what you’re doing is any good. Even though it isn’t your baby’s fault, it’s still so so hard. Sending hugs your way ❤️you taking the chance in them is the biggest first step in the right direction
