As a former collie owner now with a 5.5lb chihuahua this is 100% true. People ask how she is so good and I say because I treat her the same as I did my collie with a few breed adjustments.

I agree. Dogs treated like babies often end with behaviour issues. They're companions living with us, but with different needs and social codes. Saying they're not our babies is not saying they're less than that. They're just something else.

Basically description of how I would treat a child - understand it's needs and likes, put time and effort in teaching boundries and education, love em and spend quality time with them in a way they enjoy it... What ya'll doing with your kids then?

Oh stop 🤣 I have a 7stone Akita baby.. who LOVES to be babied. She is also the best behaved girl ever literally no behavioural issues! You can’t own this breed unless you understand it, meet their needs, and respect it. That being said this dog would die of heartbreak if she wasn’t babied daily 🤣🤣

My dog is my baby😭 But I spend good money for her to go to training and agility because even though I hate waking up at 6am on a Sunday I do it because she loves it. She is also going to attend a doggy daycare run by a dog trainer to help her build better relationship with other dogs and learn boundaries.

I raised my Chihuahua like a dog because she's a dog. I love her like my baby BUT she isn't treated like one. She is well grounded and chilled out, just how a dog should be (she does get Christmas dinner though).

Hence, why I never would get a collie. They need a lot of structure, training, and work. I made sure to get a lap dog 😂
