@gilleshaumont: You’ve seen this iconic black cat poster but did you know it was actually rebellious, satirical, and even borderline blasphemous? In this video, I break down the hidden symbolism in the Le Chat Noir poster, from religious halos to royal battle cries and what it all meant in 1890s Montmartre. There’s so much more behind this image than meets the eye check out my other videos for even more secrets hidden in this legendary poster. #Hiddenmessage ##ArtHistory#LeChatNoir #FrenchArt #VintagePoster

I didnt and we live in Montmartre and I walk my black cat around here. I was told though was that the french love black cats because back then they were a symbol of the resistance so that makes more sense about the poster as well. Thank you for sharing!

I'm very attached to this picture. I had it hung on my wall for a long time and every time I'd think how much I'd loved having a cat that looked exactly that way, both externally and the character I assumed she would have had (I assumed it was a female). Few years later my vet called me asking if I could adopt a very wild feral at heart female cat. So I went there and there it was, sit in that exact position, with het pitch black fur a huge yellow eyes this majestic young cat. I brought her home. She then became the most wonderful, clever, loving cat possible. Fun fact, my vet had that same poster hung on his waiting room wall!
