Cafeteria manager here. We have a fairly upper middle class community. That being said, I have so many children that already fall through the cracks. I am absolutely dreading the fallout.

Children are legally required to be in school from 6-17. The fact that food isn’t automatically included has always blown my mind.

Pre-K through 12th grade should have Breakfast and Lunch provided no matter what school they go to...is it socialism? Fine!!! I don't care (Don't even have children!!!!)

I think that 1) they really, truly don't care about anybody else, and 2) they know that kids who aren't fed do more poorly in school, are more likely to have trouble, and are more likely to get kicked out. And then the military is right there to "give them a path".
