I needed to hear this today. My husband and I are realizing that this may be the only way we will keep our home. My medical bills proved to be too much even with insurance. I also have my 2 grandchildren and I can’t lose my home.

We did the same in 2019 ! The math wasn’t mathing when my husband lost his job . It’s HARD ! We paid almost $3k a month plus the house was separate . Prayers

Good for you! I’m a paralegal for a bankruptcy trustee. Our office also represent clients to file bankruptcy! Girl the shame will vanish and you will be saying I wished I would have done it sooner!

I filed for chapter 7 years ago and it was the best decision ever and I now own a home. Which was something I was told I was never going to be able to do with that on my record. I am happy for you praying and hoping everything is the up and up from here

I remember when you initially spoke of filing and you seemed so unsure. I am glad you went ahead with it. 5 years seems like a long time to be strapped down by the requirements of the Chap 13, but it will be done before you know it. I’m just curious were you able to do anything with your student loans ?
